Mary sighed softly and held him tightly as they danced. “I’m so happy right now. Are you?” She hoped he was.
“I am…” he smiled truthfully. This was the happiest moment of his life.
And he knew that everything else was downhill from there.
She smiled and tiptoed to kiss his nose as they danced. “Me too. I can’t wait to see our children.” she said softly.
“We’re going to be parents, Barty. Can you believe it?” she whispered.
“I can’t believe it.” he said honestly. Closing his eyes as they danced slowly. He didn’t want this night to end.
Mary smiled as she wrapped her arms around his neck and they danced. She smiled adoringly at him, oblivious to everyone around them as her eyes were fixed on him.
“I’m glad you’re mine…”
Barty gave her a small smile, leaning closer to kiss her on the temple as they danced around in the room. He held her close and made sure she was safe.
“I can’t wait to see Andrew and Nina…” he said softly.
Mary smiled and took his hand and grinned as she led him to the dance floor.
“Of course.” she winked at him and started dancing. “I miss this.” she told him.
Barty placed a hand on her hip and swayed along to the music. Couples were slow dancing on the floor as the living room was crowded with the drunken atmosphere.
“I’m so glad I got to marry you all over again.”
She squeezed his hand before letting go, separating herself from him as she started talking to some of her family members and family friends, occasionally glancing at Barty and giving him a smile.
Barty returned the smile. As soon as Marcus and his mates were drunk and started dancing with the bridesmaids, Barty walked over to his bride and kissed her on the cheek.
“Want to dance?” he asked and took her hand.
“Very normal. She adores you.” she said gently, brushing his hair away from his face. “It’s okay if you don’t want to get out there. We can go somewhere else…”
“No it’s okay…” he said, and looked around at her family members. He was going to make an effort to be kind to them. He smiled and kissed her cheek and walked about to Marcus and his friends, who congratulated him on the wedding.
Mary could not help but to smile. It was an adorable scene for her, but she knew it was less than pleasant for Barty. She took Barty’s hand, gently pulled him away from her great aunt and apologised politely.
“We’ll see you later…” she promised and led Barty inside where it was more quiet. She cupped his face in her hands. “Are you okay?”
“Please tell me that was normal…” he grumbled. Still at shock at the fact that he was actually adored. Years of neglect and abuse made him think otherwise.
Noticing that he was nervous, she smiled gently and kissed him softly. “Relax..” she rubbed his back and led him to her great aunt Nancy.
“Mary! Look at the bride!” the old lady pulled Mary into a hug and kissed her on the cheeks. Mary laughed and was about to introduce her to her husband when she pulled Barty and kissed his cheeks.
“LOOK AT HIM! THOSE DIMPLES. YOU GOT QUITE A CATCH MARY.” Great aunt Nancy cooed.
“Okay.” he said, although it was obvious he wasn’t at all calm at the moment.
Barty blinked in surprise, as he suddenly felt himself got pulled and smothered all over by an elderly woman. Unsure of how to react, he simply stood there and stared at her in horror.
